Cast the tree

So he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet.

Exodus 15:25

We all know this incident recorded in the bible. After the great miracle of splitting of the Red Sea, the people of Israel ended up in the wilderness of Shur. They faced the next trial, which was lack of water to drink. Finally, to their joy they found water in a place called Marah, but to their disappointment, it was not drinkable, it was bitter.
So Moses prayed and the LORD GOD showed him a tree and asked him to cast it into the waters.
Moses did as the LORD commanded, and the water turned sweet and drinkable.
How does this incident apply to our lives? We too, like the people of Israel, wander in the wilderness with no rest, no solution to our problem, with sickness, with pain. When we cast the cross (tree) into the bitter waters, it changes it to sweetness, gladness and joy.
The cross has the power to save, deliver and set free.
But it has to be cast into the bitter waters, which is our life.
As lent season is nearing, remember the cross.
Meditate every day up to resurrection sunday, the sufferings and sacrifice of the LORD Jesus Christ.
The cross will turn all forms of bitterness in your life to sweet. Cast the tree into bitter water.
