New Covenant / புது உடன்படிக்கை
And He said to them, This is My blood [which ratifies] the new covenant
Mark 14:24
Our Lord Jesus Christ spoke these words in the upper room few hours before His arrest at the Gethsemane. He confirms and establishes a new covenant.
Until now the people of Israel where under the old covenant which was given through Moses (Mosaic law) and which was confirmed by the sprinkling of animal blood.
We read that in Exodus 24:8.
The Old Covenant was under the law and righteousness by obeying as per the law.
But the New Covenant came through our Lord Jesus and confirmed by sprinkling of His blood and it is under faith. That is by repenting and believing in Lord Jesus Christ you are made righteous.
This new covenant is for all those who believe, both Jews and Gentiles.
That is why this day is called Maundy Thursday. Maundy is Latin words meaning commandment. Since our Lord Jesus Christ established a new commandment or covenant, this day is celebrated as Maundy Thursday.
The great news is you are under new covenant established by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ and hence heirs to the promises of God and eligible for God's blessing. Claim the new covenant, not by what you did and do but claim it only by blood of the Lamb.

கெட்சமேனி தோட்டத்தில் கைது செய்யப்படுவதற்கு சில மணி நேரங்களுக்கு முன்பாக மேல் அறையில் நம் ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து இந்த வார்த்தைகளை கூறினார். அந்த மேல் அறையில் ஒரு புதிய உடன்படிக்கையை தன் ரத்தத்தின் மூலமாக நிறுவினார்.
இதுவரைக்கும் இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்கள் மோசேயின் பழைய உடன்படிக்கைக்கு கட்டுப்பட்டு இருந்தனர். இந்த பழைய உடன்படிக்கை ஆட்டுக்குட்டியின் ரத்தத்தினால் நிறுவப்பட்டது. இதை யாத்திராகமம் 24:8 இல் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.
பழைய உடன்படிக்கை தேவன் மோசேக்கு கொடுத்த கட்டளைகளின் கட்டுக்குள் இருந்தது. இந்த கட்டளைகளை கைக்கொள்ளும் பொழுது ஒருவன் தேவனிடத்தில் ஆசீர்வாதங்களை பெற்றான்.
ஆனால் இயேசு கிறிஸ்து இதை மாற்றினார். ஒரு புதிய உடன்படிக்கையை நமக்குத் தந்தார். இந்த புதிய உடன்படிக்கை கட்டளைகள்னால் கட்டப்பட்டது அல்ல, இயேசுவின் மீது வைக்கிற விசுவாசத்தினால் கட்டப்பட்டது. இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் மீது விசுவாசம் வைக்கும் பொழுது, நாம் நீதிமானாக கருதப்படுகிறோம், அதனால் ஆசீர்வாதங்களையும் பெறுகிறோம்.
அதனால் தான் இந்த நாள் பெரிய வியாழக்கிழமை என்று கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது ஏனென்றால் இந்த நாளில் ஒரு புதிய உடன்படிக்கை கொடுக்கப்பட்டது. இன்றைக்கு விசுவாசத்தின் மூலமாக ஆசீர்வாதங்களைப் பெறுங்கள். பழையவைகள் ஒழிந்தன எல்லாம் புதிதாஈன
