Secret place
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Psalms 91:1
This is the most quoted psalm and very familiar for most of us, but is this applicable to all, can all Christians claim the promises of protection mentioned in this psalm, what does it mean by secret place, what is the secret place of Most High.
We may have these questions in mind. In order to understand, we should read carefully the first verse. The answer to all these questions is in the second half of the first verse.
Shadow of Almighty, to abide in the shadow of a person, to be within a shadow of a person, one must walk next to that person and very close to the person.
Walking ten steps away does not make one to be within a shadow of a person.
This is the answer to all the questions above. Secret place is the place closest to God the Father, it is the place next to Him. When we dwell, that is lodge in this place, next to Him always, then we are in His shadow and then all the promises in this psalms becomes applicable to us.
How can we dwell in the secret place of the Most High. When we seek Him everyday, meditate on His word and be obedient to His word, we dwell or lodge in the secret place of Most High.
When you pray and read the word and obey every day of your life, this psalms applies to you. He will be your refuge and fortress.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor by the arrow that flies by day, A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. With long life He will satisfy you,
And show you His salvation.”
So dwell in the secret place of Most High everyday.
