Covenant God
Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.
Deuteronomy 7:9
This verse starts by telling us who our God is. It says therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, He is faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy.
Yes this is who our God is.
First of all, He alone is God and there is none other. Secondly He is a faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy.
He does not change and is the same yesterday today and forever.
He was faithful to Abraham who had waited for hundred long years for promise to be fulfilled, but God indeed fulfilled the promises at the right time.
He was faithful to the people of Israel and brought them out of Egypt
He was faithful to the promises He gave to people of Israel and sent them a Savior, Christ our Lord.
All this He did out of mercy and not because of someone's greatness or holiness.
He is a faithful God even today and He will surely fulfill what He said will do in your life.
Hold on to His promises and wait upon Him in hope.
He will surely show up at the right time, He does not forget.
Until that time, He bears you in His arms and cares for you.
