Prayer life

Be persistent and devoted to prayer, being alert and focused in your prayer life with an attitude of thanksgiving.

Colossians 4:2

Apostle Paul gives us a very important instruction for our blessed living. It is about prayer life. He does not say just pray but mentions three things we should do in our prayer life.
Why prayer life is important?  A life of prayer determines how we live. If we have a strong prayer life, our life will be strong and blessed, if we lack prayer life then our life will lack many things including the blessings of God.
Prayer life is directly connected to our physical life. That is how much it is important. So let's learn from Apostle Paul's instruction about the three things we should have in our prayer life.
First, be devoted to prayer. What does he mean by devoted to prayer? The word devotion means to be loyal. So Apostle Paul says to be loyal to prayer. No matter what happens one should start and end the day with prayer, doing so will enable you to navigate life's path as per God's will and hence avoid road closures, delays, potholes, and accidents and reach God-given destiny on time.
Secondly being alert. The one thing kingdom of darkness does not like you to do is pray. So be alert always and avoid unnecessary distractions to praying, be watchful, your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Lastly, be focused on prayer. In the gospel of Matthew 6:7, Jesus said "When you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words."
When you go to pray be focused, let the Holy Spirit guide you, pray in faith and focus on the needs specifically. For the LORD knows what you need.
How is your prayer life today?  prayer should not be an event but rather it should be a lifestyle, your very nature.
Try these instructions of Apostle Paul during this summer, dedicate time to prayer, be on alert always, be focussed, and see what it can do to you. Prayer never fails you.
