The Great High Priest
We have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God.
Hebrews 4:14
One of the main important role of the high priest in the old testament was to reveal the will of God to the people. Whenever the people of God wanted to know what the will of God is they would come to the high priest and ask him. Now the high priest wore something called the Urim and Thummin (engraved dice-like stones) on top of their high priest robe as instructed by God through Moses. When someone wants to know God's will they will approach the high priest and ask and in turn the high priest will ask God and if it is God's will the Urim and Thummin will glow and by that, they knew that it is God's will. We read about this in Numbers 27:21.
In the new testament, we may not have a high priest here on earth like in the old testament, but the bible says that we have a High Priest in heaven, the great High Priest, who is our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ Himself, who performs the same role as the earthly high priest, in fact, the earthly high priest was a model of the heavenly high priest.
Only Jesus Christ our LORD, knows the will of the Father and when we go to our great High Priest in heaven in prayer and ask, He will reveal it to us through the Holy Spirit.
Today we like to know the will of God for many things in our life. Go to the High Priest our LORD Jesus Christ and ask Him. Do not do anything without asking, be it about your children, your job, or investments or plans, because when you do everything as per the will of God, you will surely prosper. The great High Priest knows God's will for your life. So go to Him and find out and do everything as per God's will, so your life shall prosper and so shine before all and glorify God the Father.
