Rule over it
Sin lies at the door, and its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.
Genesis 4:7
This verse is so true that when we follow as per what it says then we will truly have a blessed life. Abel and Cain presented offering for the Lord God. Abel's offering was accepted, because there was no fault or blemish in his offering and the Lord was pleased with it, but Cain's offering was not the best and was not given with a joyful heart, hence God rejected it. This caused Cain to become angry, bitterness, Jealousy, started to take hold of him, sin started to control him and as a result he killed Abel and the wrath of God fell on him.
Before all this happened, God warned Cain to rule over sin, not to give opportunity to sin to rule over him. God said to Cain that sin lies at the door and its desire is to control you, take over you and destroy you, but God said you have the authority to rule over it.
Even today so many thousand years after Cain, sin still lies at our doorstep, desiring to rule over us and prevent us from receiving God's blessing, but the great news is we have the power to overcome sin, which Cain didn't. We have the Holy Spirit living inside of us, and when we walk as per Holy Spirit guidance, cousel, and help we can surely rule over sin and defeat it, we can live a worry free, stress free, joyful life which is given to us freely by our Lord Jesus Christ. This is exactly what Apostle Paul also mentioned in Galatians 5:16, walk in the Spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh or give what the flesh desires, hence rule over it.
So today rule over sin and with the help of the Holy Spirit, ask the Father to strengthen you by the Holy Spirit to rule over sin and you shall surely be blessed and victorious in all your ways.
