Remember The Body
This is My body which is given for you.
Luke 22:19
At the last supper, Jesus spoke these words. Although I may seem strange, there is a deep truth in these words that Jesus spoke.
In ancient days, the people of Israel sacrificed a young lamb without blemish to take their place of punishment for their sins.
The lamb was killed, and its body was offered as a sacrifice, which symbolically means that the sins of the one who has sacrificed the lamb were forgiven, and the person need not be punished or killed for the sins he has committed.
The very purpose that Jesus came, was to be that sacrificial lamb, to take our place, to be wounded for our transgressions and crushed for our iniquities. He took our place, took our punishment, He took our sickness, our defeat, our failure and our sorrow upon Himself, offering Himself to be punished and be that sacrifice for us, so that we might live and not die.
That is why Jesus said, I give My body for you.
Today when we fall short or feel we have sinned, be encouraged, there is no punishment for your sins if you have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. If you truly repent and ask Jesus for forgiveness, you are truly forgiven. Jesus already took all punishment for all your sins you committed from your birth till your death. When you ask forgiveness to the Lord for your sins, He removes your sins as far as the east is from the west and remembers them no more, and you are set free from the sickness and bondage.
As you remember this Holy Week, do not forgot that your Lord Jesus has given His body to set you free. Thank the Lord for what He did for you.
