Appreciation
They have been a wonderful encouragement to me, as they have been to you. You must show your appreciation to all who serve so well
1 Corinthians 16:18
What is the importance of appreciation? How much impact it brings? According to a recent study, most employees say they would “likely leave their job if they didn’t feel appreciated.” The percentage had increased significantly. The percentage was even higher among younger employees who seemed to place more importance on being appreciated.
On the other hand, most managers felt the opposite. In fact, in this study, most senior managers felt that “it’s common for staff to quit due to lack of appreciation and recognition.” They didn’t seem to feel that appreciation was as vital as it was to their employees.
The conclusion? Appreciation matters. There are many ways one can express appreciation. Through recognizing achievement, acknowledgements, saying encouraging things or simply expressing thanks. These actions can make the workplace a better environment and can produce immense results
Showing appreciation is a Biblical principle. Apostle Paul demonstrated this when he encouraged believer's in Corinth and showed appreciation for all those who served faithfully.
We can apply these principles in the church, home, community, and workplace. Appreciation makes the relationships stronger and makes a strong bond between believers and especially within the family, within husband and wife and children. It is vitally important that you recognize and appreciate the good things about your wife or husband, which makes your relationship stronger and happier. The fact is that all of us need appreciation. We need to know that we aren’t taken for granted. When we show appreciation, we demonstrate that we care, and that other people matter.
Today, look for ways to show appreciation. To say words of encouragement. To let others know that you are thankful and remember that this applies to your relationship with God. Seek to have a thankful heart, showing appreciation for all that He has done for you.
