Day 1 – Peter Goes to Joppa

Read

Acts 9:32-43

Reflect

Peter traveled to Lydda to visit the Jewish believers who had settled there. A miracle occurred (9:32-35), and many believed in the Lord Jesus. After this Peter travels to Joppa upon an urgent request for a miracle. Peter accepts the request and goes to Joppa not knowing he is going to perform the greatest miracle of his ministry which is raising Tabitha from the dead.
The main reason for all these miracles to happen is because of the prayer of one man called Cornelius, a centurion from Caesarea. His prayers brought Peter all the way from Jerusalem and not knowing about this Peter had to stop in Lydda and Joppa to perform miracles, but his ultimate purpose of the trip is to visit Cornelius, the first gentile to be saved.

Respond

As you start your 21 day fasting and prayer, start activating your faith. Pray and ask God to stir up the faith within you. Eph 2:8 says that you have been saved by grace through faith and not by your own works. You accepted Lord Jesus Christ not by your own faith, but by His faith. If you can be saved through His faith, you can receive answers to your prayer and receive mighty miracles and deliverance through His faith as well.
Pray this prayer.
Lord Jesus, I come to you during this 21 days of fasting and prayer. Please strengthen your faith in me. I yield and surrender all of myself to you. May I receive answers to my prayer as per your will and may your name and name of the Father be glorified.
