Hosanna / ஓசன்னா

We all know this event and have been part of celebrating it from our childhood. We call it palm Sunday or triumphal entry of Lord Jesus Christ into the city of Jerusalem.
The People of Israel welcomed Jesus with great enthusiasm and shouted these words.
Hosanna to the Son of David, Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD, Hosanna in the highest.
So what is the actual meaning of these words. Hosanna in Hebrew means help, save or rescue.
This word Hosanna is used to call someone of higher power or authority to come and help or save. It is like a SOS call.
People of Israel where under the cruel rule of the roman empire and as per Isaiah prophecy where expecting a messiah to come and rescue them from this bondage, they all thought Jesus is going to defeat romans and rescue them and establish His kingdom. Hence they cried Hosanna, save us, help us.
But Jesus Christ came to rescue the people of Israel from something much worse, which is eternal death and hell.
It is the same for us as well, Jesus Christ came to rescue you and me from eternal death and hell and not only that He came to rescue you and me from the torture and evil plans and attacks of the enemy the devil against us.
Hence pray this prayer every day, Hosanna to the Son of David, Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD.
Surely He will rescue you from every trap and evil plans and attack of the enemy and protect you and bless you.
Yes Jesus alone is the worthy and capable King who can rescue us now and forever more.

வேதத்தில் சொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கிற இந்த நிகழ்ச்சி நாம் எல்லாருக்கும் அறிந்த ஒன்று. சிறு வயதிலிருந்து நாம் இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியை குருத்தோலை ஞாயிறு என்று சொல்லி இதை நாம் கொண்டாடுகிறோம்.
இயேசு கிறிஸ்து எருசலேம் பட்டணத்திற்கு வந்த பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்கள் ஆரவாரத்தோடு வரவேற்று தாவீதின் குமாரனுக்கு ஓசன்னா கர்த்தரின் நாமத்தில் வருகிறவர் ஸ்தோத்தரிக்கப்படத்தக்கவர் என்று சொல்லி வரவேற்றார்கள்.
ஆனால் இந்த ஓசன்னா என்ற வார்த்தைக்கு என்ன அர்த்தம், ஏன் இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்கள் இவ்வாறாக சொல்லி வரவேற்றார்கள்?
ஓசன்னா என்ற இந்த வார்த்தை எபிரேய மொழியில் காப்பாற்றுங்கள் உதவி செய்யுங்கள் என்ற அர்த்தம் கொண்டது. ரோம ராஜ்ஜியத்தின் கொடுமையான கட்டுப்பாட்டிற்குள் இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்கள் இருந்தன, அந்த சமயத்தில் ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசனத்தின் படி ஒரு மேசியா வந்து இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களை விடுவிப்பார் என்ற அந்த நம்பிக்கையோடு அவர்கள் வாழ்ந்து கொண்டிருந்தனர்.
இயேசு கிறிஸ்து பல அற்புதங்களை செய்த பொழுது, இவரே அந்த மெசியா என்று நம்ப ஆரம்பித்தனர். அவர் எருசலேம் பட்டணத்திற்கு கழுதையின் மேல் ஏறி வந்த பொழுது, இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் அவரை நோக்கி எங்களை ரோம ராஜ்யத்திடமிருந்து காப்பாற்றுங்கள், தப்பிவியுங்கள், உதவி செய்யுங்கள் என்று இயேசுவை நோக்கி அவ்வாறாக கூறினார்.
ஆனால் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவோ அவர்களை ரோம அரசிடம் இருந்து காப்பாற்ற வரவில்லை, அதற்கும் மேலான பிசாசின் கைகளில் இருந்து அவர்களை விடுதலையாக்கவும் காப்பாற்றவும்மே வந்தார்.
இன்றைக்கும் நம் ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களை மாத்திரம் அல்ல நம்மையும் பிசாசின் பிடியிலிருந்து காப்பாற்றவும் விடுதலையாக்கவும் வந்தார்.
ஆதலால் இந்த ஜெபத்தை ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் ஜெபியுங்கள். உன்னதத்தில் வீற்றிருக்கிற எங்கள் இயேசு ராஜாவே ஓசன்னா. அவர் நம்மை விடுவித்து நித்திய ஜீவனை அளிப்பது மாத்திரமன்றி இந்த உலகத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் நமக்கு எதிராக வருகிற ஆபத்துகளில் இருந்தும் பிரச்சனைகளிலிருந்தும் காப்பாற்றுவதற்கு வல்லமை வாய்ந்தவராய் இருக்கிறார். தாவீதின் குமாரனுக்கு ஓசன்னா.
