Hiding Place
Out of Egypt, I called my son.
Hosea 11:1
When the Magi came to see the Lord Jesus Christ, they caused a great uproar. King Herod through the Magi came to know that a King was born in Bethlehem.
Angel of the Lord warned the Magi in a dream about this and hence after seeing Jesus they departed in a different route without telling Herod the whereabouts of the baby boy. This caused Herod to be furious and he ordered the murdering of all boys under two years of age, thinking that would kill Jesus.
But God had other plans, in a dream He warned Joseph to flee to Egypt.
In those days Egypt was a pagan country and was no place for any Jews to be there. But that is where God sent Joseph and Mary to take refuge.
Even in our lives sometimes, we are pushed into situations and circumstances that are like Egypt. It is not what we expected.
Our life takes a turn for the worse when all else seems to be going well. We may be wondering why Egypt? why this problem, why this confusion and pain? Joseph and Mary would have thought the same. But little did they know that it was their hiding place. It was their safe haven.
Sometimes the problems and failures in our life are for our own good, a hiding place from greater danger. God knows it all and hence allows certain circumstances to come in our life. If it is you today in Egypt, don't be discouraged, at the right time the Lord will call you out of Egypt into your promised land. Rejoice for Lord Jesus is your Savior.
