The Harvest
Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap.
Galatians 6:9
In the world of agriculture, harvest is a major event, an event of celebration. In many nations, the harvest of crops is celebrated as a festival. Harvesting event is declared a public holiday. Even in the bible, we see the Israelites celebrate the feast of harvest which is Pentecost, as per the instructions given by God the Father.
But one thing we all have to remember, there is no harvest, no festivity, and no celebration without first sowing of the seed, sowing of the crop.
Always sowing of the crop comes first and then the harvest.
Similarly in our daily life we expect a harvest, blessing, abundance, deliverance, and healing and there is nothing wrong with it, but we have to remember that in order to reap abundant harvest we should sow first. What is that we have to sow?
The verse today tells us that we should show doing good to others, especially to those of the household of faith.
Every day God gives us the ability to do good to others and show the love of Christ to them. The seed to sow good deeds is given in our hands.
When we sow the seed of good deeds not grudgingly but out of a pure heart, then we reap abundant harvest in due time.
Are you waiting for harvest? See if you have sown the seed of good deeds first, see if you have done good to others, helped the poor and needy, helped, encouraged, and prayed for fellow believers.
If you have been sowing good deeds, your harvest time is coming. If you have not sown good deeds start sowing now, so that your harvest will be ready for you.
Remember, there is no harvest without sowing.
