The Lamp of your body
The eye is the lamp of your body.
Luke 11:34
Our LORD Jesus Christ shared a great truth in gospel of Luke chapter 11 verses 33 to 36. Eye is the lamp of your body. Everything that we do in our life is based on what we see. We see our friends or neigbhors with nice house and cars and we are tempted and end up buying expensive things we can't afford, we watch the news and get afraid and become worried and frustrated and sometimes become too cautious, we see the medical report and get panicked, we see the world and our life gets corrupted by the things of the world.
What you see makes you who you are and how you live.
When you see Lord Jesus Christ instead of the world, when you see the Word of God every day, when you see the eternal glory that is waiting for us, your whole life if filled with Joy, peace and happiness, your whole life is filled with the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Your whole body is full of light.
But when you see the world and the things of the world, your life becomes miserable and your body filled with darkness.
Start looking at your LORD and Savior Jesus Christ, know about Him, know His nature, His character, His power. Have a deep fellowship with your Savior, read His Word daily, close your eyes to the things of this world.
Your body will be full of light and your life will shine so brightly before others.
