None like Him

O LORD, there is none like You, nor is there any God besides You.

1 Chronicles 17:20

David had a dreadful part of early life. He was running for his life from king Saul for fifteen long years. During those years he hid himself in caves, and in the wilderness, he even took refuge in the enemy's camp by acting like a lunatic. David had the most miserable time of his life those fifteen long years.
But all those years God preserved him and sustained himself. No one could cause harm to him or capture him.
Even in the wilderness, God showed David favor and fed him.
That's why David writes this verse to say that there is no one like the LORD Jehovah (Old Testament name for LORD Jesus Christ).
Even today, our LORD Jesus Christ is the same as before.
No matter what we face and how our life is, He is with us, preserving us, protecting us, feeding us.
During the time of hardship and wilderness, He is much closer to you and nothing can harm you or come near you.
Like David, you are surrounded by His saving hand.
He gives the strength to overcome and once the season of wilderness is over, He crowns you with glory.
So Trust in the LORD with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight.
