Law of the Spirit
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
Romans 8:2
In the old testament, God gave many laws and commandments to the people of Israel, so they know the right ways, so they know what is good and evil and walk in the right ways.
There are 613 laws in the Old Testament.
But the law given by God couldn't keep them from sinning and following evil ways.
The more the laws the more the sin.
Hence to free mankind, God sent His only Son Jesus Christ to live a life without sin and fulfill all that is in the law.
Christ lived a sinless life and fulfilled the law, that whoever believed in Him will be freed from sin and have power over it.
When we believe or have faith in LORD Jesus Christ we are made righteous and made right with God.
This is the law of the Spirit. Having faith in LORD Jesus Christ and believing Him with all our heart. It is also called the law of faith.
This law of faith has freed us from the law of sin and death.
No longer are we required to follow those old testaments laws in order to prove that we are righteous, no longer do we need to follow the OT laws to receive the healing, deliverance, and goodness from God.
We follow the OT law because they are good ways and good ways of the LORD.
But in order to prove righteous or in order to receive the deliverance, healing, and restoration that God promised we follow the law of faith.
That is we believe with all our hearts that Jesus Christ is LORD and He is the healer and He is the provider and He is the protector, He is the preserver, and so on.
Even though circumstances don't seem right, even when we walk on water, even when we walk through the fire, when we believe that God is able to deliver, heal, and fulfill His promise, we are truly saved.
Abundant blessing is not by following the law of sin and death but by following the law of the Spirit which is the law of faith.
