Wilderness God
And I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn out on your feet.
Deuteronomy 29:5
Wilderness is a place of no life or little life because of the harsh conditions. Nothing thrives in the wilderness and only the toughest survive. Wilderness is dry and a place of no hope.
It was such a place God lead the Israelites for 40 years. It was not just men but women and children as well.
No one could survive that conditions alone by themselves if not for God helping them and being with them.
The people of Israel not only survived but thrived very well. Bible says their clothes were new and did not wear out and their sandals were strong and were not torn.
They were fed manna, a food from heaven, and were given quail to eat.
The life of the people of Israel was luxurious in the wilderness because God was with them dwelling among them.
Today you may feel like you are in the wilderness and nothing good is happening to you. That's how it feels to be in the wilderness.
But our LORD Jesus Christ is a God of wilderness. He is closer than you think and importantly dwells with you and not somewhere far off.
It is in the wilderness you will feel His loving kindness. He is the one who takes care of you.
So don't be worried because of what you see around you, know that your Savior is with you and walking together in all that you face.
He will help you and strengthen you and make sure the wilderness will not harm you. You will be blessed like the Israelites because you are not alone in the wilderness, you are with the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob.
