Signs of Salvation
Seek good and not evil, that you may live; So the LORD God of hosts will be with you.
Amos 5:14
Seek good. The word good in hebrew is ṭōbāh meaning being fruitful, morally correct, kind and benevolent. This is the same characteritics of the Holy Spirit.
When we are with someone for a long time we naturally tend to follow their character. Our children watches us all the time and displays similar character as ours.
Similarly we are expected to display the characteristics of the Holy Spirit, because when we are saved He comes to live in us.
Hence the fruit of the Holy Spirit such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, meekness and self control is expected to be in display in our lives.
When we display the fruit of the Holy Spirit we show signs of salvation.
The signs of salvation is seeking good, doing good, being good and loving good.
When we demonstrate goodness God has promised us that He will be with us as a LORD of Hosts. Yahweh Sabaoth is the hebrew word for LORD of Hosts meaning God of heavens armies. God will fight your every battle and give victory
So seek good and let the world around you know the signs of salvation and you will live and be filled with God's goodness. He will give you victory in all you do.
