Do Right
If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.
Genesis 4:7
We all know this famous incident that happened in the bible. Adam's two sons Cain and Abel brought offering to the LORD, Abel's was accepted but Cain's was not. Cain became angry about it.
LORD knowing about the anger of Cain, came to enquire him of why he is sad and angry and advised him to do what is right so his offering would also be accepted, but warned him that if he does not do right then the very sin will rule over him.
In the very next verse we see that Cain inspite of this advise and warning from the LORD, yielded himself to sin which resulted in killing of his brother.
This is a great lesson we can learn from this incident. When we do what is right in the sight of the LORD, He accepts our offering. In these days we don't offer animals or vegetables or produce as offering but rather our prayers are an offering before the LORD.
So from this verse we learn that when we do what is right as per God's Word, then He hears our prayers, accepts it and answer it.
When we do walk and do right as per God's Word, then our prayer offerings are not accepted, which leads to frustration and sining more in the sight of the LORD.
This is the fundamental truth which was told from the beginning for a blessed living.
