Honored by the Father
If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.
John 12:26
Serve Me, what does Jesus mean by this statement? what does serving Jesus mean? Serving in general means to meet the needs of the someone you serve. For example when you go to a restaurant a server will come to take your order for food, the server will take care of your food needs while you are there in the restaurant.
He patiently waits for you to choose the food from the menu and once you do, he then takes your order and makes sure he delivers it.
Some servers go beyond by making sure that you are fully satisfied with the food and they customize it based on your liking.
Similarly, serving Jesus means to find out what He likes and He dislikes and give Him what He needs.
The first and foremost thing that Jesus wants from us is our love towards Him, so loving Him with all our heart, soul and mind is the best way of serving Him, secondly He wants you and me to love others like how He loves us. By loving others like Jesus, we show them the love of Christ, give to others who do not know Jesus a taste of how His love is like.
Thirdly telling others about the gospel and what Jesus did.
When you do this, you serve the LORD Jesus Christ, and the Father in heaven will honor you.
That is He esteems you highly and gives you the highest priority.
