Increase
He must increase, but I must decrease.
John 3:30
Increase. We all love to have increase in our life. We love to see an increase in the salary, increase in our lifestyle, increase in our children’s life, increase in status, wisdom, position and so on.
But in the verse today, John the Baptist wants to see a different kind of increase. Rather than seeing increase in his own life, he wants to see LORD Jesus increase and that he might decrease.
It is a very interesting desire. Not many in today’s world would want someone else to increase and they themselves decrease.
It may seem not a wise thing to say and desire, but what John the Baptist said and desired is the wisest thing of all. John the Baptist's desire was more of Jesus in his life, more of knowing about Him, more of His love, more of His goodness, kindness, mercy, grace and less of his self-desire. John the Baptist knew that when desire for Jesus increases in his life, all other things will follow, all other things will be in line, every crooked path will become straight, every hurdle gets removed, every chains will be broken, every blind eyes will see.
Like John the Baptist do you also desire for more of Jesus love? His presence? do you desire to know Him more? do you desire to walk closely with Him even more every day? do you desire to read His Word and Obey and walk by it? Do you desire to seek Him above all else? and do you desire less of your own self, own self ambitions, self goals and desires?
When Jesus increases in your life all other things will follow. From today may Jesus increase in your life and may you decrease.
