Every Word

But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

Matthew 4:4

Living by bread, what it means? It has two meanings, first it means the physical bread we eat every day, the food that we consume three times a day.
Food industry is one of the thriving business in the world. With the growing amount of sickness and diseases, many people are being cautious about what they eat, and hence we see new trend of food arising, like plant based, vegan based foods.
But the Bible clearly states that Man shall not live by what foods He eats. Though we need to be careful, yet food does not determine our longevity. It is the very word of God that comes out of His mouth. So what are those words? Those are the words which are written in the Bible. Like in Psalms 91:14, 15 it says in the days of trouble he will call me and I will answer him and with long life I will satisfy him. It is the word of living God that sustains us.
Secondly bread means our source. What is your source that sustains your everyday living. Is it your job or your family inheritance or worldly influence or friends. Today's verse states clearly that Word of God is our source, not the job or influence or inheritance. It is God who provides our everyday needs, your job may fail you, your influences may fail you and all other sources may fail you, but not the Word of God. That is why in Matthew 24:35 it says heaven and earth shall pass away, but My Words will not pass away.
Lets remember the very word of Living God written in the Bible, memorize it, declare it, claim it, it is by this Word of God we live, the very Word of God give you longevity and prosperity and hope. Hold on to it for life and you will see the fruit.
