Humble Yourself
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.
1 Peter 5:6
Peter gives us a great advise for God’s blessings to be poured into our lives. Humbling yourself under the mighty hand of God. This is the advise Peter gives us in this verse.
What is humbling yourself under the mighty hand of God mean. It means to surrender your life to Him and wait for Him to act and bless you. It means to surrender to His will. It means not to live a life as per your desire but to know the LORD's desire for your life and ask Him to fulfil it in your life. It means not to self dependent but rather dependent on Him for everything, be it financial provision, be it lifestyle needs. It means not to look at your Job or Business as your financial source but rather God as your financial source.
Why we have to humble and surrender to God’s will, it is because He has the best plan and path forward for your life, He has planned the best Job for you, He has planned the best schools for your children, He has planned the best location and city and country you will live, He has planned a best house, He has planned the best family life for you. So when we surrender to His will which is always best for us, we receive the best in our life to enjoy.
Many times we go to the LORD in prayer and ask what we want and ask what we think is the best, but rather ask the LORD to give to us what He thinks is the best for our lives.
When you do so, when you humble yourself in this way under the mighty Hand of God, He will exalt you in due time. When you humble yourself under the mighty Hand of God, the best days are ahead of you.
