The greatest farmer
This also comes from the Lord of hosts. He is wonderful in counsel and excellent in wisdom.
Isaiah 28:29
The last part of this chapter depicts a metaphor of what God does in His people’s life. In this chapter Isaiah compares the LORD to a farmer. Just like how the farmer knows exactly when to plow and plant and seed, when to prepare the land, when to use what tools to treat the seed so that it can give a greater yield of crops, LORD knows exactly how to prepare the hearts of His people to draw near to Him and bear much fruit.
He uses various tools and methods to mend our hearts, so that we can produce that desired fruit that God expects of us. For some He uses a lighter and a subtle way of molding and preparing their hearts, for some He uses a heavy crushing tool to melt their hearts, but it is all for the good of His people.
Isaiah clearly portraits God as not a cruel God of punishment but a God of love who even though may seem harsh always intends good for His people. He is wonderful in counsel and excellent in wisdom, He knows exactly what He is doing.
Today, are you feeling crushed, feeling abandoned, feeling squeezed, is every road ahead seems blocked, is there no room for expansion, is your problems getting worser by the day, is your situation not improving, maybe it is time to yield to what God is doing in your life and submit and listen to Him speak to you. Always only through the crushing good comes out.
So don’t lose heart today, don’t be discouraged. God does never harm to you, but always works for your own good. He is the greatest farmer. He brings something great and beautiful out of you that would turn into a great testimony. So, trust in the LORD and He will strengthen you and set you on high when the right time comes.
