Will of God

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

The verse today gives us a very clear picture of what is the will of God for us. It states three important things we should do as followers of our LORD Jesus Christ.
First, we should rejoice always, rejoice for what? rejoice for salvation we have received from the LORD. Rejoice that God who created the heavens and the earth does not leave you nor forget you, He has carved you in the palms of His hands. Rejoice because you are adopted as sons and daughters of the most high God. Rejoice that all His promises for you are yes and amen.
Secondly, we should pray without ceasing and at all times. Prayer is the only mode of communication with God and the best news we can ever receive today is this, God hears our prayers, He hears your prayers and He answers them. God only acts on your behalf based on your prayer. Without your prayer there will be no action from the kingdom of God. So prayer is essential and crucial for our everyday living and to overcome the struggles and challenges.
Lastly giving thanks to God. This is important as well, because when we thank God for the good health, thank God for the provision, thank God for the protection and so on, we acknowledge Him. By showing our gratitude we proclaim that all we have is from Him and it is because of LORD Jesus Christ we live a blessed life. Giving thanks to God is one way of humbling us before Him and submitting to His authority, because we acknowledge that what we have done and achieved is because of Him and not because of our own strength.
Why it is important to do the will of God? Hebrews 10:36 says when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. Do the will of God and receives His promises for a blessed life.
