Delight in the Lord
Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart's desires.
Psalms 37:4
Many times we approach God only for our needs. We pray to Him asking for nothing else but our needs. We tend to have a need based relationship with Him.
But it today's verse Psalmist reminds us that God wanted to have a love based relationship. A relationship in which you approach God out of love from your heart for Him.
You approach God because you are excited and delighted to be with Him, to talk to Him and waiting to approach Him not because He meets your needs but because you love Him for who He is.
This is the kind of relationship that God loves and cherishes.
And when we have this kind of relationship with our LORD Jesus Christ, then without you asking for your need, God gives it to you, because he knows your hearts desire,
He can read your heart and what is in it.
Today's verse is the key to answered prayer, key to receive our hearts desires from the LORD himself.
This year, make it a habit to take delight in the LORD. Approach Him with a thankful heart, a joyful heart, a loving heart filled with songs of praise for Him.
After all He is your everything and He is the reason you live.
