The Prepared Table

You prepare a table before me, in the presence of my enemies.

Psalms 23:5

In the ancient times during the time of David, preparing a table for someone means to honor them, invite them and honor them with the best meal. David wrote this psalm when he was running from king Saul. David was surrounded by enemies, they wanted to kill him, put him to shame and defeat him.
But David, who has tasted God's goodness, puts his trust in the LORD. Even though he was surrounded by enemies, David was sure that God will come to his rescue and not only rescue him,
But honor him before his enemies.
That's exactly what happened. David could not be captured by the enemies, but instead became the king over his enemies.
Today you may feel you are surrounded by enemies who spread lies about you, who wants to harm you, who wants to pull you down.
Like David, be assured today that God has already prepared a table to honor you before the very same people who wanted to put you to shame and pull you down.
Your enemies might think they took victory over you, but God always surprises the enemy.
He will give you the victory and lift you up more than you ask or imagine.
Your table of honor is ready, be seated and enjoy the banquet LORD has prepared for you before your enemies.
The struggle or pain or disappointment you undergo will be defeated and you will sit in the table of Joy, Peace, Honor and Victory.
Enjoy the prepared table by the LORD.
