Long lasting Blessing
Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.
Mathew 10:39
Our verse for today teaches that there are two fundamental ways that we can live life. We can choose to live a life of our own on our own terms, or we can choose to live a life in service to Jesus Christ and his Kingdom. Whichever choice we make has fundamental consequences.
Bible says that If we choose to live a life of our own on our own terms, then we will lose our lives. The person who makes this choice has decided that what comes first in life is his own person and his own interests. Instead of placing priority on Jesus and His Kingdom, he or she places priority on themselves and their own fleshly desires. These types of people may have gains in this world, but it ends here and they lose all that is for them in eternity.
On the other hand, If we choose to live a life in service to Jesus Christ and his Kingdom, we gain a much bigger and long lasting eternal blessing which does not perish. This group of people Instead of placing priority on themselves and their own fleshly desires, they place priority on what Jesus wants.
The first group of people who live for themselves and fleshly desire store up treasures on earth, which is destroyed by moth or rust or stolen by thieves, but the second group of people who live a life in service to Jesus Christ and for His kingdom store up treasures in heaven which is not destroyed by moth or rust or stolen by thieves and is their for them to enjoy for eternity.
Today which group you belong to? The choice is yours. Do you want to enjoy a long lasting blessing or strife, work hard, sweat, toil for a very short, tiny blessing?
The long lasting blessing is there for you, don't lose it. Enjoy it in this life and in the life to come, by serving and living for Lord Jesus Christ.
