The Righteous
For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.
Psalms 5:12
David says that the Lord will bless the righteous. Who are the righteous? Are they those who walk in sinless perfection? If so, then in Psalm 14:2-3 David tells us that there really aren't any, for There is none who does good, No, not one. Indeed, David himself would not qualify, because he had some major sin in his life. So who are the righteous? According to the Apostle Paul, the righteous are those whose transgression are forgiven, Whose sin are covered (Romans 4:6-7).
When you believed and accepted LORD Jesus Christ as savior, your sins are forgiven.
Bible has countless number of blessings for the righteous, but today David in this psalm list one such blessing for the righteous.
The righteous are surrounded by God's favor and He will be a shield.
Always remember this. Since you accepted LORD Jesus as your savior, you are the righteous and you are always surrounded by His favor where ever you go.
Today you may not be surrounded by influential people, or people of power, or you may not even know famous prophets or famous servants of God, but you are surrounded by favor of the most high God. He is with you and for you. He has surrounded you as a shield.
When His favor is with you, obstacles are removed, crooked path is made straight, you will find a way in the desert, those things which are impossible becomes possible.
Receive this blessing every day of your life through God given faith.
