The Fiery Darts
Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
Ephesians 6:16
In Ephesians 6:10-20 the Apostle Paul tells us about a war being waged against the people of God. In order for Christians to stand victorious in this war, armor must be used. Ordinary armor, however, will not do. This is because of the nature of the enemy. The enemy is not "flesh and blood," but "principalities," "powers," "rulers of darkness," and "spiritual hosts of wickedness." The enemy, in other words, is the whole army of demonic forces under the control of Satan.
The armor, as a result, must be fitting for a war against evil spiritual forces. It must be the whole "armor of God." There is "truth," "righteousness," the "gospel of peace," "salvation," and the "word of God." The most important piece of armor according to our verse for today, however, is faith. "Above all," Paul says, we should take up the "shield of faith."
Why faith is the most important weapon for the Christians because of the nature of the attack we face every day, which the bible call as fiery darts. Every time in our mind the enemy wages war, bringing fear, doubt, anxiety, confusion, sadness, depression and many other fiery darts and the only weapon we can use to fight against such attack is faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Bible says that in faith and the Word of God the world and the universe was formed. If by faith and Word of God the universe was formed, how much more faith and Word of God can do to our lives.
Today and always use your important weapon against every attack of the enemy and be victorious. You don't have to live in fear, doubt, anxiety, confusion, sadness, use your faith to quench every fiery darts that come at you. This is the only way to live a victorious Christian life.
