Words that shape destiny

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you,
O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.

Psalms 19:14

David prayed earlier in Psalm 19 that the Lord would keep him from sinful actions of all kinds. In our verse for today, he takes the issue deeper by asking that the Lord would also keep him from speaking words that are sinful. The words we speak has the same impacts as our actions.
If our words and meditations are free from sin, then they will be pleasing to the Lord. Our words must be words of faith and hope in Him, declaring His promises every time we face uncertain and trying times. God can only act on our behalf through our faith. Every time Jesus did a miracle, He asked if they believed.
Our words of belief have life changing miracle working power that can do the impossible. Word has great power that we cannot imagine. Psalms 33:6 says the God created heaven and earth by His word.
Yes, that is why David prayers this important prayer, seeking help from God to enable him to speak life giving words which will be pleasing to the Lord.
Proverbs 18:21 says life and death are in the power of words. How are your words today, your own words determine your destiny. If your words are negative and always destructive, then it affects your destiny in a similar way, but if your words are of faith and hope in the Lord speaking always the positive and good things God has for you, then your destiny remains the same. So today, pray the same prayer and ask the Lord to help you shape your destiny through your words.
