The Great Mercy

Remember, LORD, your great mercy and love for they are from of old.

Psalm 25:6

God's mercies are endless and everlasting. Even the most cruel sin is forgiven by God's mercy. People of Nineveh were very sinful, and they treated their enemies
with atmost cruelty, God sent Jonah to convey the message that He is going to destroy them.
Jonah did covey the message, but was hesitant to go in the beginning. In Jonah 4: 2 he tells God that initially he was not willing to go, because he knew God is merciful and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love, so He will forgive Nineveh if they repent.
This is what exactly happened as Jonah predicted. People of Nineveh repented from their sins, when they heard about God's wrath against them.
Both the king of Nineveh, his people and including their herds fasted and repented before the Lord.
Yes, indeed God relented and didn't punish the Ninevites, He showed them mercy.
If God can show mercy to the most cruel people, will He not show mercy to you and me. That is why we can boldly approach His throne room of grace and cry out, ABBA Father.
So today the most powerful prayer is seeking His mercy. In God's mercy is forgiveness, healing, deliverance and blessing.
Seek His mercy above all, and He will surely by His mercy carry you in His arms and bless you.
