Strong Prayer Backup
I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours.
John 17:9
During the last week that Jesus lived on this earth before His arrest at the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus prayers this prayer, and He still prays on our behalf. If you read further into this chapter you will read about Jesus praying for our protection and safety, for His joy in us, for sanctification by the word of God, for us abiding in the Father in heaven and overall for our well-being, sharing in His glory.
This is the same prayer Jesus prays for us even today, for our well-being all the time. Jesus knew the struggles and challenges we face, because we are living in this evil world. That is the main reason Jesus intercedes for us.
This is the hope we have even today. That we are covered by the prayers of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So don’t be discouraged today because you cannot pray due to pain and struggle. Jesus knows your weakness and prays on your behalf.
Sometimes we don’t know what to pray for, but the bible says, not only Jesus but the Holy Spirit also intercedes for us with groaning. We have strong prayer backup. What more we need when Jesus Himself and the Holy Spirit praying for us, when we couldn’t. Sometimes we don’t know the danger ahead of us, but Jesus knows, and He intercedes for us ahead of that danger. That is why it is important we give thanks, because there are many lives' danger have come to hit us which we did not know, but it was Jesus prayer and the prayer of the Holy Spirit alone has guarded us and kept us safe thus far.
So rejoice today, you are not alone, but you are covered by strong prayer backup. Trust yourself in the Lord with a whole heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all His ways praise Him and acknowledge who He is, and He will bring it to pass.
