Made strong to burn brightly
He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle
Mathew 12:20
As we remember this Holy Week, one thing we shouldn’t forget is this, Jesus voluntarily took our place. He took our weakness, our sin, our mistakes, our disappointments, our pain, our failures, upon Himself. He came not to crush us and condemn us. We are the weakest bend reed, we are bent because of burdens, because of bondage, our lamp inside us, that is our hope, our confidence may have shattered, but Jesus didn’t neglect us, he did not neglect us because we are weak and covered with sin, the very reason He came was to bear our burdens and set us free from all sins.
He is the sacrificial lamb chosen on our behalf. He, who knew no sin, became sin for us. He accepted upon Himself our sins. He became the weakest reed and the flickering candle. So that we might be called righteous, strong and brightly burning candle.
Today if you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, that He is God and sent by the Father in heaven and died for our sins, you are set free, made strong and brightly burning.
But you may ask, I see have problems, I am still bent and weak, and my lamp is flickering. Jesus said you will have troubles in the world, but be joyful, I have overcome the world. Jesus has already overcome what you are going through on the cross. In Him, you have fullness of life. Even you may have trouble, Jesus will deliver you, Trust in Him and rejoice because Jesus loves you and cares for you. He will help you and not punish you, He will carry you on His shoulders and rejoice in doing good to you. You are not crushed or put out, but made strong to brightly burning.
