The Way
Jesus answered, “I am the way"
John 14:6
The Way, it was the name of the early church. Followers of Jesus Christ were called “The Way” in the early church. Apostle Paul mentions that in Acts 22:4. The name “The Way” was given to the early church believers, probably because of their hope and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Early church believers faced persecution and challenges in life, and during those tough times their only hope was their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They can only find peace and safety in Jesus. Everything from their shelter, clothing, food was provided miraculously by Lord Jesus.
When they faced severe persecution, Jesus intervened and made a way where there is no way. Jesus stopped Saul from persecuting the early church believers, in fact, Saul got converted and accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior and stopped the persecution.
Hence, Jesus was everything to the early church believers. The next meal they dependent on Him, their very survival was dependent on Jesus. He was “The Way" for them and because of that Jesus never left them at any time, He was always with them protecting them, healing them, providing for them and the church grew. The early church believers lived as a family, loving one another.
Today, what are you dependent on ? Is your Lord and Savior Jesus the only Way for you ?
He is a God who makes a way in the wilderness and calls into existence from nothing. There is nothing impossible for Him. So believe and trust in the name of the Lord wholeheartedly, and He will save you and provide a Way for you where there seems no way.
