Find Rest

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High, will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

Psalms 91:1

In 1941, while America was deeply involved in World War II, 52 young men from Seadrift, a small town in Texas, went off to war.
“All the people in the city were praying for everybody,” said one survivor.
The pastor of a small church in Seadrift came up with this idea: Members of the church brought in photographs of their sons, which were framed, and the congregation and community members prayed over. They are prayed over psalms 91 every day and every time they met. When the war was over, all 52 of those young men returned home safely.
Today we face a different kind of war. Our enemy is silent and invisible, but the God we worship is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is a protective God.
When we seek Him for protection from all dangers out in the world, He will stretch out His wings and protect us.
Taking shelter in Him means to run to Him and seek Him and pray to Him and call upon His name.
The one person who took shelter always in the shadow of the Almighty was king David. He was surrounded by enemies, but nobody could harm him, because God was his refuge.
Today, you can only find rest in Lord Jesus Christ. You may be running busy and trying to protect yourself from may be not a physical danger but from fear, uncertainty, unknown. Run to the Almighty instead, and He will give you rest from all fear and He will make your path clear and give you peace.
