Preparation

Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails

Proverbs 19:21

How do you and your family prepare for the transition from one year to the next? Many in the world look forward to the New Year's Eve celebration, for others it is a routine like any other day and for some there is a relief that finally this year coming to an end, but as believers and followers of Christ what are we supposed to do to prepare for the New Year?
As believers this is the best time of the year to reflect on what God has done for us in this entire year, it is a time to gather your family and thank the Lord for all His goodness. In both good times and bad He was always with you and your family, providing, protecting, guiding, counseling, comforting, wiping your tears, strengthening, give you favor and blessing you.
Bible says in Jeremiah32:40 that God always loves to do good to us and rejoices in doing good to us. Even though circumstances and situations may not look good, but in every situation God is in control and that's the promise HE has given us.
In Deuteronomy 4:9, the bible instructs us to be careful, and watch closely what the Lord has done in your life and not let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.
These times of reflection are extremely important because they spiritually strengthen our families and help us draw close to one another. Providing personal testimonies reminds everyone – especially our children and teens – just how much God loves them and how actively involved He is in our lives.
Remember, God always has good plans for you and He plans will always prevail. Be rest assured in His promises always.
