Incorruptible Seed
For you have been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever
1 Peter 1:23
We all love to think of the apostle Peter as the wild young fisherman, whose energy and enthusiasm often caused him to make rash promises, which too often brought him crashing down into the traumatic reality of his own inability, sinfulness and pride. But as we read through his two epistles, we recognize a beautiful maturity and godly wisdom, which descended on this beloved, aging apostle, as he records his deepened understanding of our privileged position in Christ.
He reminds us that we are born of incorruptible seed.
We were brought into the world through the perishable seed of our earthly parents, which is subject to death. That is why many times like peter we too fall down. We, too, have inability, sinfulness and pride within us. But the bible says by faith when we accepted Jesus as Lord and savior, we were born again by the incorruptible seed. Which means sin no more has grip on us. We can still be the same peter but changed in all the ways. Understanding all the ways of the Lord, able to overcome sin and live a blessed life.
This is very important to remember every day of our life, that we are now born of incorruptible seed, so do not go back to the old ways of doing things in the flesh and make things happen by your own effort it will only cause you to fall down like peter, but when you realize every time that you are born again by incorruptible seed you get the power from God and strength to do all things which will become possible in your life. Today, enjoy all the privileges that comes along with the incorruptible seed and enjoy God's abundant goodness and be a blessing.
