Apple of God's Eyes
For the Lord’s portion is His people; Jacob is the place of His inheritance. He kept him as the apple of His eye.
Deuteronomy 32:9-10
“The apple of my eye.” It’s a phrase that expresses particular affection. God uses it to describe just how special His people were to Him. Deuteronomy says that God's people are His inheritance, and they are apple of His eyes. Hundreds of years later, God still felt this intense affection. He mentions the same to prophet Zechariah. In spite of all that the people of Israel did and the sins they committed against God, they were still loved by God and were considered a special possession by Him. They had rejected Him and worshiped idols. They had been so unfaithful that He had been forced to send judgment. Yet they still were the “apple of His eye.”
This is the same even today. God's considers His children which is you and me as His special possession. In spite of our weakness, In spite of our sins, in spite of doing our own things and not acknowledging Him, God still loves us, and we are still the apple of His eyes. You are apple of God's eyes. He is zealous for you and loves you more than you can think or imagine.
Today the enemy the devil may lie to you saying you are not special, you are a sinner, and that God does not love you, or He does not love you like He used to. The truth is, God did not love you just one time or only when you are perfect. He loves you all the time, and you are the apple of His eyes. Yes He also disciplines you when you do wrong. Bible says that He disciplines whom He loves, when God disciplines you it does not mean He hates you or punishing you, it is because He loves you. Enjoy His love today and be rest assured that you are apple of His eyes and a prized possession.
