The Path

I will restore to you the years that the locust had eaten

Joel 2:24

If you visit Israel and see the very mountain that Jesus went to fast and prayer 40 days and night, you will notice it is just barren wilderness and nothing in it, no comfort, no food, no shelter, rocky and hot. It is unimaginable how Jesus could have spent his time 40 days in that wilderness fasting and praying. To be out in those extreme places and to know what Christ went through there was almost overwhelming.
Today, as you are fasting and praying, you may be in a wilderness place right now, facing a wilderness situation in your life, having a wilderness moment. Remember, there is always a greater purpose when God allows you into the wilderness. The scriptures say that the Holy Spirit leads Jesus into the wilderness. Sometimes God leads you into the wilderness to bring greatest in you out of it. The Bible said, “Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit.” And that’s what I believe is going to happen to you on this fast. As you come out of it, you’re going to return in the power of the Holy Spirit – the very same Spirit Jesus was talking about.
Wilderness fasting and praying make every crooked path straight in your life and leads you straight to God’s ordained destiny for your life. Wilderness experience leads to restoration. Wilderness brings destruction, but God uses the wilderness to bring restoration and blessings.
Today as fast and pray, the path God has taken you may be wilderness, but take good courage, when God takes you to wilderness, He will lead you out of it in flying colors. He does not take you to wilderness to destroy you, but to restore you back with double portion what you have lost.
