Weapons to Overcome
They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
Revelation 12:11
Apostle John saw a powerful vision. In the vision he saw and heard, it was shown how God’s people can overcome adversaries and be victorious.
In his vision, John heard a “loud voice” when “the accuser of our brethren” was cast down. As God’s children, we face overwhelming problems, but as per John’s vision which was the future, we were able to overcome every attack of the enemy by two main biblical weapons, ”The blood of the Lamb and The word of our testimony.”
Here the Bible gives us insights into two powerful weapons that are available to us and can help us overcome our problems and adversaries: The blood of Jesus and our testimony.
The Bible tells us that there is power in His blood. He was the Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world. We see this power symbolized when Israel was delivered from bondage in Egypt. Those who had the blood of a lamb on their door posts were protected. Those without the blood were not.
We are reminded that Jesus made His blood the centerpiece of communion. And, through His death on the cross, Jesus defeated Satan and the power of his demons.
We also have power of testimony which is the words we speak. As we speak His Word, we declare powerful truths in our lives. We can be bold in declaring His promises and testify that we are saved and children of God!
Today, remember that Jesus shed His blood for you. Through His blood, you have victory over sin and your enemies. When you feel assaulted or attacked, claim His blood as your protection. And speak His name and proclaim His promises! You, too, can overcome your accusers through the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony!
