Highly Favored
Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women.
Luke 1:28
When the angel Gabriel greeted Mary, he did not begin with fear or instruction, but with favor.
“Highly favored” was not merely a kind greeting; it was a divine declaration.
Mary was chosen by God, not because of her status, strength, or achievements, but because the Lord was with her.
The favor of God is His gracious kindness that distinguishes, preserves, and advances His people according to His will.
Favor brings divine access, divine help, and divine timing.
What seemed impossible for Mary—conceiving the Savior of the world—became possible because God’s favor was at work.
In your life today, the favor of God is present just as it was with Mary, because the Lord is with you.
Favor opens doors for you that no human effort can open, brings peace in uncertain seasons, and gives grace to carry responsibilities that are beyond natural ability.
His favor is for a lifetime, Psalms 30:5.
Hence, rejoice and rest in peace. The favor of the LORD goes before you, removes the mountains, makes crooked paths straight, raises up the valleys, makes way in the wilderness, and does the impossible for you.
Reflection:
Am I aware of God’s favor at work in my life, even in ordinary moments? Do I trust that His favor is enough to carry me through what He has called me to do? How can I respond to God’s favor with faith and surrender, as Mary did?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unmerited favor in my life. Thank You that Your presence goes with me and Your grace surrounds me. Help me to recognize and value Your favor above all else. Give me a humble heart to trust You and an obedient spirit to follow Your will. May Your favor open the right doors, strengthen me in every challenge, and bring glory to Your name through my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
