Goodwill towards men
Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men.
Luke 2:14
Goodwill is when someone shows kind intentions or a desire to do good for others. Example: Helping a neighbor without expecting anything in return.
In the bible, Goodwill often refers to God’s favor, peace, and kindness shown toward people.
Christmas reminds us that God is not angry at us and punish us.
It is rather the opposite.
He sent His Son to show favor, kindness, and to help and deliver and save.
That is why we celebrate Christmas so joyfully. Not because it is a holiday that we can enjoy with family and friends.
Not because of gifts, good food and sweets.
It is because of God's goodwill towards men.
The Bible says if God is for us, who can be against us (Romans 8:31).
If God is for helping us, that is the greatest help, if God is for healing us, it is the true healing, if God is for delivering us from problems, it is the ultimate rescue.
Today may this reality reign in your hearts and approach God based on this truth.
Jesus Himself said, Ask, come to me, I care for you, nothing is too hard for me and everyone ask receives.
Celebrate this Christmas with joy knowing that God is for you and not against you.
Reflection:
How have you approached God? is it with fear, doubt, guilt? Are you not approaching God because you think He may punish you or judge you?
These are lies. Truth is God is for you. He demonstrated that by giving His life for you.
So train your mind to always walk and realize this truth. Not looking at circumstances.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for sending your Son Jesus Christ as a goodwill toward me. I am blessed to know you are for me and not against me.
Father I cast all my care at your feet. You are the one who perfects all that concerns me.
Take care of me as I am in Christ. May I enjoy you everyday of my life. Amen
