The Thief of Joy

Do not let your heart envy sinners, but live in the fear of the LORD always.

Proverbs 23:17

Envy is the desire for what somebody else has. It not only means you wish you had other people's belongings, but it also means that other person did not have that thing.
Envy is the opposite of agape love. Real love rejoices over what other people have instead of resenting it.
The desire for more is a thief that robs us of enjoyment for the present.
It is a cruel taskmaster that refuses to allow us to rest.
Envy is a disease to which we are more vulnerable.
It always wants us to drive a newer car, live in a larger house, look for a higher paying job, sometimes even a better spouse.
The desire to want more is not wrong, but when we base our need by comparing ourselves to the neighbor, then it becomes envy, and it is dangerous.
It steals our joy and all our life, we live with no peace and miss enjoying God given blessings.
Close the door to this thief called envy and lock it. So that he cannot enter and not only steal your peace but your health, finances, relationship, and so on.
